Bashurhat Pourashava,Companigonj,Noakhali.

Bashurhat is a rapidly growing coastal town of Noakhali, Bangladesh,the administrative headquaters of Companigonj Upazila and Bashurhat Pourashava.The pourashava was established in 1990 and falls under category: class 'A'.The town is thriving as the most important business hub in entire Noakhali. Most of the public and private bank,insurance company, NGO and other social and business organizations have their regional office or branch in here. Some new generation banks like Dutch-Bangla Bank, Jamuna Bank, South-East Bank, NBL, Islami Bank,Uttara Bank,Pubali Bank have their branch in here and have taken the initiative to provide their best available services to local people and business such as online banking and ATM facilities. The rapid urbanization is getting momentum mainly because of this region's large number of expatriate population who traditionally live and work in Europe,North-America and middle east. The large amount of foreign remittance flowing in the local economy are attracting more business,service provider,financial institutions,private health care services, insurance companies,retailers to expand their business. The town has decent educational facilities. It has a Govt. degree college,a govt. girls high school,a govt. co-education high school and several other good high school,madrasha and a very good number of kindergarten school. But there is still a great demand for a Govt. Women's College and public or private medical college and a University. Private health care services is flourishing in the town. There is a 50 bed govt. hospital and a good number of privately owned hospital, clinic and diagnostic centres.
